I'm currently recruiting for a Production Shift Manager on behalf of a leading organisation in the food and nutrition sector, located just 30 minutes from Cork City.

The Shift Manager will be responsible for providing overall leadership, direction, and coordination to production employees. The role involves managing shift operations to achieve key business objectives, including product quality, order fulfilment, OEE, labour efficiency, health and safety, and budget control.

In addition, the Shift Manager will provide cover in the absence of the Plant Manager and support operations management as required.

This position is based at a strategic spray-drying facility that plays a key role as a major supplier within a wider international manufacturing network.

The role is permanent full-time.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Shift Management

Lead the Shift Team to achieve production targets/KPIsEnsure the highest standards of product quality, integrity and hygieneMaintain excellent standards of GMP and Good Housekeeping PracticeMonitor and control costsEnsure the safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors and visitorsEnsure that team are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality conscious and effective wayMaintain positive working relationships and ensure effective communication at all levelsEnsure all work areas and equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performanceDrive initiatives to maximise employee contribution and drive improvements in product quality and process/system efficienciesLiaise with QA & QC, logistics, technical and maintenance teams to achieve optimum resultsResponsible for Company Internal Controls as assigned to you by the Internal ControllerInterface with HR in relation to employee performance/development and any employee relations issuesUpdate relevant HR systems as required

General Management

The Shift Manager will be expected to cover for the Production Manager when absent and support the Production Manager in other areas of productionContribute to the overall department performance plan in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation and EnvironmentDrive correct usage, maintenance and development of all production systems

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

2 years experience in a management/supervisory role in the food manufacturing Industry is requiredThird level qualification in a related field is desirableSAP/MES/scada experience highly desirableA strong understanding of Microsoft Office is requiredProven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
