Working Model: Hybrid – Work from home, on-site, or from any regional office

About the Opportunity

Are you a people-focused Health & Safety professional who can engage, influence, and make safety a positive part of everyday culture — not just a checklist?

We're recruiting for a Regional Health & Safety Advisor (Grade VII) to take the lead on Health & Safety matters across a network of community-based services in the Waterford and Wexford region. This is a standalone, autonomous position — ideal for someone who thrives in a flexible, self-managed environment.

Rather than enforcing safety protocols from the top down, this role requires a personable, approachable, and persuasive communicator — someone who can bring people on board, build relationships, and make safety feel relevant, practical, and easy to engage with.

Key Highlights

Autonomy: You'll plan your own week — decide which sites to visit and when, and balance time working from home or from one of 10 key regional offices.Blended Working: Enjoy the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week or choose any of the local offices across the Southeast region.Purpose-Driven: You'll play a vital role in supporting services that benefit communities, families, and children.Diverse Portfolio: The sites include administrative hubs, early years inspection offices, and family support centres — predominantly in Waterford & Wexford.

What We're Looking For

What You'll Be Doing

Conduct and follow up on site visits, audits, and risk assessmentsSupport line managers with compliance, training, and ongoing H&S awarenessCreate a visible and friendly presence across offices and sitesLead by influence — gently, respectfully, and effectivelyReport on findings, incidents, and initiativesPromote a positive, proactive safety culture

You Might Come From:

Public sector (e.g., HSE, HIQA, Local Authorities, Defence Forces, OPW)Healthcare, community services, or not-for-profitsLarge campuses or facilities (e.g., universities, manufacturing, or logistics)Construction or regulated environments where stakeholder management is key

Why Apply?

Join a mission-led organisation doing real good in Irish communitiesGain ownership over your role and working styleBuild meaningful relationships across diverse teamsEnjoy competitive public-sector aligned salary Mileage reimbursed for all travel within the region
