Position Responsibilities Overview
The cloud provides flexible and low-cost IT resources across the Internet.
As more cloud providers seek to drive greater business outcomes and the environments of the cloud become more complicated, it is evident that the era of intelligent cloud has arrived.
Recent advancements in Machine Learning and AI such as deep learning hold the promise for solving some of the most complex challenges in cloud management.
Proactive anomaly detection, dynamic and intelligent resource allocation, intelligent fault diagnosis, and network demand prediction are among the challenging problems in this space.
The Huawei Ireland Research Centre is starting a new research team that will focus on researching and developing AI algorithms for solving these complex challenges leveraging the recent advancements in AI.
This position expects a strong AI background with deep algorithmic knowledge in areas such as anomaly detection, reinforcement learning, and supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.
The team will have access to large real datasets collected from Huawei devices across Europe and will utilize Big Data processing infrastructure as needed (e.g., GPUs, Spark Clusters).
The Ireland-based research team will work closely with the Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) at Headquarters, which covers smartphones, PCs, tablets, wearables, mobile broadband devices, family devices, and device cloud services.
CBG is the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, dedicated to delivering the latest technologies to consumers and sharing the happiness of technological advances with more people globally.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend systems and APIs for research projects.Collaborate with team members, such as frontend developers and product managers, to define and implement features and improvements.Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that is easy to maintain and scale.Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of backend services.Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and development environments.Continuously optimize backend systems to handle increased traffic and provide a seamless user experience.Stay updated with the latest technologies and contribute to the overall improvement of backend systems.Position Requirements Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.At least 2 years of backend development experience with proficiency in Python.Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.Good understanding of backend development principles, algorithms, and data structures.Familiarity with machine learning and large language models.Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and GraphDB databases (e.g., NebulaGraph, Redis).Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).Proficient in designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.Experience with version control systems such as Git.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Experience in AIOps is a great plus.Notice: Applicants must be eligible to work in Europe, HUAWEI CANNOT currently sponsor any work permit applications.
