We are seeking a dedicated Site Safety Officer to support our mission of maintaining the highest safety standards across our project sites.Job Summary:We seek an experienced and proactive Site Safety Officer to oversee and enhance site safety performance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining site documentation, conducting safety inspections, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture.
The role requires collaboration with the PSCS, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure the safe execution of work on-site.
This is a challenging role for the right person and will involve travel throughout Ireland which is a key part of the role.
Reporting to the Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, you will be required to,Key Responsibilities:Monitor work activities to ensure safe working practices and adherence to method statements.Deliver comprehensive site induction training, covering site rules, procedures, and safety protocols.Advise contractors and workers on health and safety standards, recommending necessary improvements.Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, including:o   The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005o   The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013o   The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007Coordinate contractor activities and facilitate the communication of critical safety information.Act as the primary site contact for Health & Safety Authority (HSA) inquiries and emergency services.Investigate and document accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.Review and proofread method statements and contractor safety statements, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.Provide ongoing reports to management on site safety performance, risks, and areas for improvement.Support the HSE corporate teamDoing regular Site Inspections for a Few DaysAlso Supporting larger Projects and being full-time on-site for a Week to 6 weeks.Requirements:Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a safety officer role within the construction industry.Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent diploma/certificate in Occupational Health and Safety).Strong working knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations and industry best practices.Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to engage and influence site personnel.Ability to assess risks and implement practical, effective safety solutions.Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating with site teams and stakeholders.Desirable:Experience in safety roles across various construction environments.Manual Handling Instructor would be advantageous.Experience dealing with regulatory bodies such as the Health & Safety Authority (HSA).Why Join Us?Be part of a highly experienced and dedicated safety team.Gain exposure to a diverse range of projects in multiple industries.Competitive salary and opportunities for career progression.Contribute to creating safer workplaces and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.If you are passionate about safety and have the skills and experience required for this role, we would love to hear from you.
