Post Summary: The Discipline of Occupational Therapy invites applications for the position of Regional Placement Facilitator in Occupational Therapy.
The successful candidate will become a full member of the practice education team within the Discipline, contributing to practice education teaching at undergraduate level, and will report directly to the Head of Discipline.
They will be expected to work closely with the Practice Education Co-ordinator in securing practice education placements for students, and supporting students and practice educators during practice education placements.
In addition, they will be expected to be actively involved in the continued progression and development of practice education within the Discipline.
The successful candidate should have at least three years post qualification experience in occupational therapy practice and will be at a senior occupational therapist stage of their career (or eligible to apply for Senior Occupational Therapy positions).
The candidate should have a well-established background in occupational therapy practice, with a proven track record of working with students in practice, evidence of team work in a multi-disciplinary teams, as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
The Regional Placement Facilitator position requires the candidate to have a very clear working knowledge of the Irish healthcare system and the broad context of occupational therapy practice in Ireland.
The post requires a high level of organisational skills, communication, networking and collaborative problem solving.
Context The Executive officer will support senior leadership with the day to day running of the GHAP project.
The GHAP project supports a two Senior Research Fellows and one PhD Student, though the group will grow during the lifetime of the project.
This is a specific purpose contract.
The specific purpose of this employment is to create an Executive officer vacancy on a temporary is offered on a three year contract basis.
Main Responsibilities As a member of a flexible team, the successful candidates duties may include but are not restricted to the following: Administrative Provision of high level administrative support to the GHAP leads, in all aspects of their workload and assisting with implementation of their work programme.
Facilitating meetings, communications and engagements with internal and external stakeholders to progress project.
Drafting letters and memoranda and other correspondence on behalf of the GHAP research leaders.
Responsible for travel arrangements including flight, transfers and visa applications for GHAP stakeholders.
Event Management Organise and manage logistics for key events including project/publication launches, research meetings and other events as they arise.
Meetings include 3 Partnership meetings in Dublin, Cape Town and Geneva.
Annual Steering Committee meetings and meetings with policy Makers.
Oversee the organization of travel arrangements for guest speakers and contributors to research events.
Responsible for all aspects of the research meetings, including invitations, briefs for speakers, and after event follow up.
Be responsible for all logistical operations for events including room booking, AV management, catering and accommodation.
General Management Manage iProcurement, iExpenses and casual payroll activities on behalf of the GHAP team Manage the Schools research software and database subscriptions.
Perform other duties that will arise from time to time and as directed by the GHAP leadership team.
Post status: Specific Purpose Contract The specific purpose of this post is to cover a career break.
Hours of work for academic staff are those as prescribed under Public Service Agreements.
