Key Responsibilities: Childcare and Education:Plan and Implement Activities: Develop and execute age-appropriate activities and educational programs that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.Monitor and Assess Progress: Observe and evaluate each child's development, maintaining detailed records and sharing updates with parents regularly.Ensure Child Safety and Well-being: Maintain a safe and secure environment for all children at all times, ensuring they are supervised appropriately.Leadership and Management:Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support nursery staff, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.Staff Scheduling: Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate supervision and coverage throughout the day.Team Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with your team to discuss planning, share best practices, and address any concerns or issues.Communication:Parent Relationships: Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns promptly.Staff Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, ensuring a cohesive and supportive working environment.Classroom Environment:Maintain Cleanliness and Order: Ensure the classroom is kept clean, organized, and stimulating.
This includes regular cleaning routines and maintaining the upkeep of classroom materials and equipment.Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks and reporting any issues to management promptly.Documentation and Administration:Timely Documentation: Ensure all documentation, including attendance records, accident reports, and developmental observations, are completed accurately and submitted on time.Emergent Interests: Observe and document the emerging interests of the children, incorporating these interests into future planning and activities.Professional Development:Stay Updated: Keep abreast of best practices in early childhood education by attending workshops, training sessions, and reading relevant literature.Continuous Improvement: Incorporate new knowledge and techniques into the classroom, continuously improving the quality of care and education provided.Classroom Maintenance:Cleanliness and Order: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the classroom, toys and teachers' materials, ensuring it is a safe and inviting space for children.Safety Checks: Perform regular safety checks of the classroom and playground areas, addressing any hazards promptly.Team Collaboration:Positive Relationships: Foster positive relationships with colleagues and other staff members, contributing to a supportive and collaborative working environment.Staff Meetings: Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions on planning and improving nursery practices.Required Skills and Qualifications: Education and Experience:Minimum Level 4 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.Skills:Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to plan, organize, and implement a range of activities.Strong understanding of child development and early years curriculum.Proficiency in record-keeping and administrative tasks.Personal Attributes:Passionate about working with young children and committed to their development.Patient, caring, and nurturing nature.Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
