**Job Overview:**

We are seeking an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Early Childhood Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional who shares our passion for providing high-quality care and education to young children.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Childcare and Education:
    • Develop and implement engaging activities and educational programs that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development in children.
    • Maintain accurate records of each child's progress and share updates with parents regularly.
    • Ensure a safe and secure environment for all children at all times, supervising them appropriately.
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and mentor nursery staff, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
    • Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate supervision and coverage throughout the day.
    • Conduct regular meetings with your team to discuss planning, share best practices, and address any concerns or issues.
  • Communication:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, ensuring a cohesive and supportive working environment.
  • Classroom Environment:
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment, including regular cleaning routines and upkeep of materials and equipment.
    • Adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks and reporting any issues to management promptly.
  • Documentation and Administration:
    • Ensure all documentation, including attendance records, accident reports, and developmental observations, are completed accurately and submitted on time.
    • Document emerging interests of the children, incorporating these interests into future planning and activities.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education by attending workshops, training sessions, and reading relevant literature.
    • Continuously improve the quality of care and education provided by incorporating new knowledge and techniques into the classroom.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Foster positive relationships with colleagues and other staff members, contributing to a supportive and collaborative working environment.
    • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions on planning and improving nursery practices.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Education and Experience:
    • A minimum Level 4 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to plan, organize, and implement a range of activities.
    • Strong understanding of child development and early years curriculum.
    • Proficiency in record-keeping and administrative tasks.
