Facilitator (Social Care Worker Grade) Count Me In Castlebar Area, Co. Mayo Permanent 17 hours per week Reference Number Job Brief This role will involve working in The Count Me In, Day Service supporting young autistic people in self-development, within the following areas, social inclusion, social capacity, education, employment and other aspects of their lives.
The successful applicant will be responsible for: Ensuring a person-centred approach to meet the needs of each participant individually Developing an Individual Plan for each participant Empowering each participant to achieve their identified goals in an integrated and inclusive setting Promote inclusion, equality and community participation.
Developing relationships with participants, families, advocates and the wider community Provide individual mentoring to participants Experience and knowledge of autism informed approaches is desirable Candidate Requirements Flexibility to support people to achieve their goals during evenings if required Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of New Directions and Person-Centred Planning A balanced approach to risk An ability to develop meaningful community links To be a good communicator with good observational and organisational skills Drive, enthusiasm, and passion for delivering person centred solutions Competent IT skills Other duties INVOLVED Duties include but are not limited to the following: Contribute to and participate in the local service planning process and the creative development and ongoing changing needs of the service.
Ensure a safe place of work, incorporating Western Care Association's Dignity at Work Policy and Health & Safety requirement.
To promote safety in all environments, in line with the Association's practices.
Use positive approaches to support people in line with Organisational practice.
Qualification Details An appropriate 3 rd level qualification in Social Care, or equivalent (minimum level 7) -please note your qualification must be eligible for CORU registration once this process commences Other Requirements Full driver's license is essential All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting & Reference checks All applicants from Countries outside the E.U.
will be required to provide relevant work authorization to take up employment in Republic of Ireland.
