Position: Senior Respiratory & Sleep Physiologist Location: Cork (on behalf of a well-esteemed hospital) Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week 12-month rolling contract Salary: €63,000 €72,000 per annum, depending on experience We are currently recruiting for a Senior Grade Respiratory & Sleep Physiologist to join a dynamic and supportive team in a respected hospital based in Cork.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a well-established healthcare setting, with potential for contract extension.
Key Responsibilities: As a Respiratory & Sleep Physiologist, you will play a vital role in the assessment and care of patients with respiratory and sleep-related conditions.
Duties include: Perform a comprehensive range of standard non-invasive respiratory diagnostic tests, including Spirometry, Bronchodilator Responsiveness, Lung Volumes via Gas Dilution and Body Plethysmography, Diffusion Capacity, Respiratory Muscle Function tests (e.g., SNIP, MIP, MEP), and FeNO measurements.
Carry out invasive diagnostic procedures such as Bronchoprovocation Testing, Skin Allergy Testing, and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
Conduct, manually score, and report on overnight sleep studies, including Limited Sleep Studies, Full Polysomnography, and CPAP Titration Studies.
Accurately interpret and present diagnostic data, clearly identifying and flagging abnormal results.
Obtain relevant clinical history and interpret referral/request forms appropriately.
Contribute to patient care through participation in procedures, providing reassurance, and delivering patient education.
Requirements: Recognised qualification in Clinical Measurement Science or equivalent.
Eligibility for or current registration with the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP) is beneficial.
A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience is required Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
