Position Overview

CEL Critical Power is seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Operations Manager to lead our EMEA Sales Operations function from our Dublin headquarters. Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, this role is responsible for managing technical estimating and inside sales teams, optimising processes, and driving continuous improvement in estimating accuracy, bid quality, and internal sales support. This is a critical leadership role requiring strong technical and commercial acumen, cross-functional collaboration ability, and a focus on operational excellence to support CEL Critical Power's growth and commitment to delivering best-in-class critical power solutions.

Commercial Management

Interface with and manage key vendors within the frameworks and agreements established by the Procurement team.

Ensure sufficient and suitable 3rd party vendors are in place for all component, service, and augmented service categories (including traded finished products such as MV switchgear, TX, UPS, STS).

Partner closely with the Procurement team to ensure optimal vendor relationships, pricing agreements, and alignment with commercial objectives.

Visit key vendor facilities/factories periodically to build and strengthen supply chain relationships and ensure supplier alignment with CEL's technical, commercial, and performance needs.

Routinise pricing processes and standardise robust pricing tools to enable efficient and consistent tender performance.

Ensure all estimating and pricing activities follow approved processes to guarantee cost certainty and minimise business risk.

Leadership & Departmental Oversight

Work closely with the CSO to ensure CEL is professionally presented when opportunities arise.

Provide overall leadership and direction for the EMEA Sales Operations function.

Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Position CEL as a professional provider of Turnkey Critical Power Systems.

Align departmental activities with the company strategy and objectives.

Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and industry best practices.

Act as a key liaison between Sales Operations and other departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and accurate data flow.

Represent Sales Operations in senior management meetings with data-driven performance updates.

Technical Sales Estimating Team Management

Lead and manage estimating teams across all product categories, including:

Modular Solutions: LV PowerPods, MV PowerPods, Skidded Switchgear, Integrated Skidded Switchrooms

Manufactured Products: Package Substations, LV Switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, Pharma/Process MCCs

Augmented Solutions: High Power Busduct, Data Hall Busway, MV Switchboards, RMUs, Transformers, UPS, STS

Oversee project workload distribution and ensure accountability for:

Technical and commercial accuracy

Timely bid submissions

High-quality, complete bid documentation

Process & Tools Development

Develop, maintain, and improve department templates for estimating and quotation.

Identify automation opportunities and implement software solutions for efficiency and standardisation.

Team Development & Training

Design and deliver internal and external training programs across all product offerings.

Schedule regular training sessions with key supply chain partners.

Facilitate upskilling and qualification of team members via online and in-person training.

Inside Sales Team Oversight

Manage the Inside Sales and administrative teams.

Ensure effective task distribution, cross-training, and avoid silos.

Oversee quotation and management of:

Managed Service Agreements for key accounts.

Loose product sales and repeatable standard offerings.

Performance Management & Goal Setting

Define departmental goals aligned with broader business targets.

Implement Lean management principles, track key metrics, and use visual boards to drive performance.

Process Documentation & Standardisation

Develop and maintain a full suite of documented processes aligned with company and ISO standards.

Create and maintain a departmental training manual and integrate it into new hire onboarding.

Develop supplementary training content (e.g., screen recordings, video guides).

Enforce consistent folder structures, naming conventions, file storage, document control, and data entry standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Sales: Ensure timely and accurate internal support, including bid documentation, sales order setup, and sales data alignment.

Procurement & Supply Chain: Maintain up-to-date vendor and pricing data; collaborate to support material availability and cost control.

Business Operations & Finance: Coordinate on SAP development, forecasting, invoicing accuracy, and alignment of sales milestones with billing and collection processes.

Engineering & Project Management: Ensure smooth transitions from estimating to execution, including resource planning, change order pricing, and customer communication.

Manufacturing: Align project timelines and capacity planning with manufacturing capabilities and delivery expectations.

Marketing: Support the development of bid documents and customer-facing materials, ensuring brand consistency; contribute to event coordination where necessary.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of Sales Operations experience in a technical/manufacturing/critical power environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and deep understanding of the electrical or data centre industries.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred), Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and CRM tools.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to compliance and quality.
