Role and Responsibilities
Managing residents\' admissions, discharges, and medication administration in line with best practices.
Developing individual care plans using a person-centred approach.
Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of care notes and plans.
Maintaining high standards of resident care and hygiene.
Supervising mealtimes, attending to feeding requirements, and performing necessary personal care tasks.
Assisting with in-house training, emergency response, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assume responsibility on each shift for the nursing care of allocated residents.
Plan and deliver a high standard of evidence-based, individualised care.
Lead a team of healthcare assistants, allocating duties and ensuring performance.
Evaluate resident care needs and, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, implement and evaluate individualised care plans that meet resident needs.
Adhere to procedures and guidelines in place.
Maintain clear, concise and accurate records within the home in accordance with legislation.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
Perform procedures accurately, completely and safely.
Build strong relationships with residents to understand their needs.
Knowledge and awareness of HIQA standards and ability to participate in inspection process.
Shifts rostered Monday to Sunday and will include night duty.
Requirements
Registered on the Irish live register (NMBI).
Must have active PIN.
Bachelor's degree (preferred).
1 year Nursing experience (preferred).
Experience of HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations 2013.
Strong clinical and communication skills.
IT skills; computer literate in Outlook, Word and Excel.
Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Proven attention to detail and follow-through.
