Job Objectives
We are seeking Psychiatric Nurses for the role of Clinical Nurse Lead to join our team in our specialist inpatient Mental Health Service at Nua Healthcare.

Comply with responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 2001 and Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, the Health and Safety at Work Act 2005, and all associated standards and regulations.
Ensure ICPs are up to date and services are delivered to high quality and safety standards.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Maintain infection control standards as directed by policy and national guidance.
Work according to the NMBI Code of Professional Conduct; assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care; support the nursing team in this role; develop and evaluate individual care plans with patients, carers, and other professionals.
Complete unit rosters and ensure appropriate skill mix in each unit.
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide nursing assessment of patients admitted to the service.
Lead the unit and support junior staff in clinical decision making.
Ensure high standards of nursing in clinical procedures and treatments, including medicines custody, storage, and administration.
Maintain high standard of nursing care during procedures through supervision and instruction.
Ensure patients' rights are maintained under the Mental Health Act.
Lead and supervise staff to ensure awareness of individual care plans and objectives.
Complete supervision and appraisals of junior staff.
Take charge of the Centre in the absence of senior leadership.
Lead planning for Mental Health Commission or external visits and inspections.
Collaborate with outside agencies to ensure effective communication across services.

Qualifications and Experience
Registered on, or eligible to be on, the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
A minimum of 3+ years post-qualification Psychiatric nursing experience.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of Health Act 2007, Mental Health Act 2001 and Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, and related standards and regulations.
Previous clinical management experience (desirable).
Genuine respect and empathy for diversity and individuality.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to adapt to new environments.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities; capable of working on own initiative.
Ability to set high personal standards and deliver results.
