Aviva Ireland have a new vacancy for a Legal Counsel for a12-month fixed term contract who will provide integrated in-house regulatory and governance legal advice to our Life & Pensions business in Ireland.
This position lies in a busy and strategically important team which delivers first class legal advice and manages diverse client relationships across the UK and Irish business divisions.
You will be joining a committed and collaborative team in Dublin, reporting to the Head of Legal at Aviva Life and Pensions Ireland DAC.
What will be your duties & responsibilities?
Providing legal advice with support as required to various business units Assist the Head of Legal and wider legal team with identification and prudent management of legal, regulatory and reputational risk with a particular focus on project work Provision of general legal advice and assistance in relation to (new) business initiatives, programmes, services and products as required What skills & experience are we looking for?
Relevant post-qualifying experienced PQE previous in-house experience in a Financial Services/Regulatory environment or large private practice.
Ideal candidate will have insurance experience but familiarity with regulatory landscape required.
Pensions experience whilst advantageous is not compulsory, project experience is ideal.
Strong personal presence with excellent interpersonal skills Proven ability to influence effectively, build business relationships and gain the trust of senior executives Clear critical thinking underpinned by strong commercial acumen Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, proven effectiveness at managing contract negotiations from inception to close What will you get for this role?
