About the Role: We are seeking an HSQE Officer to oversee the HSQE requirements on the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant in North Tipperary.
The HSQE Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees by implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures.
This role involves conducting risk assessments, training staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Act on behalf of EPS as PSCS, Site Management of all matters relating Health Safety Quality & Environmental.
Develop and encourage a culture of innovation and initiative to all matters HSQE.
Site inductions and weekly took box talks management on-site.
Prepare where required, review and authorise RAMS/ SPAs from all contractors on site, submission of same to client and act on any recommendations or amendments.
Supervision and monitoring of all site activities to ensure compliance with RAMS/ SPAs.
Act as Temporary Works Coordinator, review risk assessments, design considerations, and coordination with contractors.
Comply with contract KPS to ensure audit scores are maintained to the highest standards, liaising with the Site PM to develop audit schedules.
Responsibility for site HSQE and Ecology audits on behalf of EPS, closing out action items.
Implementation of EPS Construction and Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
Represent EPS on all stakeholder and general public HSQE communications Prepare HSQE information for inclusion in monthly progress reports and presentation.
Assist in the compilation of the project safety file / O&M file for handover Key Competencies and Skills: Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Proficiency in PC skills to include MS office.
Good inter-personal and communication skills.
Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Have a willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and wastewater Industry.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Certification in health and safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role.
Full EU/ Irish driving licence.
