About the role:

Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Business Partner, the Banking & Reconciliation Manager will be responsible for the management of the reconciliation and accounting of bank accounts and transactions for the Flogas Energy business. Being a key member of a high performing finance team, you will also manage the implementation of effective and efficient processes within the Flogas Ireland organisation.

This role will initially be based out of our Drogheda Head office but will primarily be based in our new offices at Dublin Airport Central later this year.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a banking team of two monitoring the daily reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately captured in the ERP systems.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for the Elec ROI and Nat Gas ROI businesses.
  • Responsibility for investigation and resolution and booking of the reconciling items on the recs for the businesses listed above.
  • Responsibility for booking and reconciliation of inter-co transfers between businesses
  • Manage banking relationships between bank and Flogas staff and DCC group treasury team
  • Co-ordination of daily, weekly and monthly bank payments
  • Proactively drive process improvement, automation and elimination of inefficiencies in current banking processes
  • Manage the validation of account and transaction fees charged by banking providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all Banking controls across the Team. 
  • Effectively manage month end reporting requirements for all countries, including bank reconciliations, DCC compliance requirements, clearing etc.
  • Support regional treasury operations including bank management, cash positioning, forecasting and disbursements
  • Manage excess cash position
  • Support the Senior Business Partner / Head of Finance / Finance Director on ad hoc projects as and when required.
  • Liaise with external/internal parties as required, including customers, auditors and DCC Group Compliance teams.
  • Keep up to date on relevant accounting issues that may impact Flogas operations.
  • Effectively lead and manage the Banking team in line with all DCC Group HSE and other corporate policies.
  • Ensure the cross training of the Banking Team members to ensure adequate holiday / leave cover can be maintained and ensure that all major team tasks are managed at all times.
  • Ad Hoc duties as required


Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a part-qualified accountant or Accounting Technician with substantial banking or treasury experience. They have a proven track record in people management, showcasing the ability to manage and develop a team effectively. This person should have a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a fast-paced environment and must be proficient in Microsoft Excel along with experience working with large ERP systems.
