Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a housekeeper to join our team in the Urology department at Louth for 15 hours per week. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team.

The successful candidate will be working outside the main clinic hours and will be involved in making sure the department is clean and tidy and ready for clinics and procedures to be delivered in the department

Main duties of the job

As a housekeeper in the Urology department you would be expected to undertake all domestic and cleaning duties in both clinical and non clinical areas, reporting faults and complete documentation. There may be a need to assist with the provision of light meals and also duties relating to patient care

Job responsibilities

This role has responsibility for indirect patient care, under the direction of supervisory or nursing staff

This role also has end user responsibility for resources such as the equipment and materials used in carrying out the duties of the post.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Basic general secondary education in English and Maths Knowledge of cleaning and food handling procedures Knowledge of COSHH and food hygeine procedures; induction and job training

Desirable

NVQ level 2 support services or equivalent or similar qualification Basic food hygiene certificate

Previous experience

Essential

Must be able to demonstrate previous experience of housekeeping in a domestic environment

Desirable

Be able to demonstrate previous experience of housekeeping Customer service training Knowledge of/ training in moving and handling techniques

Evidence of particular knowledge, skills and aptitudes
