We are seeking an accomplished Finance Manager for our client, an award-winning Marketing Agency. You will be at the forefront of the company’s growth and market expansion initiatives. Your expertise will be vital in partnering with business leaders to craft and execute strategic financial plans that align with their bold growth ambitions. Acting as a vital link between finance and other departments, you’ll have the ability to distill complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for all team members.

 

You will take ownership of the entire accounting function, ensuring it is not only efficient but also world-class. Your leadership will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting. Additionally, you will present financial issues and proposed solutions to the business owners in a concise, accessible manner, directly impacting day-to-day operations.

 

About You

 

You are a qualified finance professional (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) with a proven track record of providing strategic and commercial support to senior management. With extensive experience in either start-ups or SMEs, you excel in delivering high standards in fast-paced, complex environments. You are detail-oriented but can effortlessly transition to big-picture thinking. This role demands a hands-on, experienced finance leader who is eager to tackle challenges head-on.

 

Responsibilities

 

Finance Management

  • Drive the seamless operation of the finance function, ensuring robust financial practices are upheld.
  • Monitor, manage, and optimize cash flow, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Embed sound financial practices fostering a culture of fiscal responsibility.
  • Oversee the preparation and approval of monthly and year-end accounts.
  • Compare sales and profit projections with actual outcomes, making necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive monthly management accounts.
  • Develop and manage budgets, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts.
  • Coordinate financial audits, liaising with external auditors and addressing audit findings.

Finance Strategy

  • Serve as a key advisor on all financial and budgetary matters, influencing long-term business decisions.
  • Continuously monitor and analyse the company’s financial performance, initiating corrective actions to minimise variances.
  • Develop pricing strategies and the formulation of sound financial strategies.
  • Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial health.
  • Advise on long-term financial planning, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Evaluate business operations to identify opportunities for reorganization, downsizing, or elimination to improve efficiency.

Systems and Processes

  • Selection and implement a new financial management system to support business needs.
  • Develop financial policies and procedures that ensure transparency, consistency, and compliance.

Skills and Experience

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant.
  • Management accounting experience within SMEs.
  • Strong IT skills with understanding of finance software and tools for financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in an accessible manner.
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities, with a proven ability to align financial strategies with overarching business goals.
  • A team player with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Flexible, assertive, and open to change, with a proactive ‘Can-Do’ attitude.
