Job Summary:

The Trainee Process Technician is an entry-level position aimed at developing skills and gaining hands-on experience in process operations within a manufacturing environment. The role involves learning to operate and maintain production equipment, monitoring processes, and assisting with ensuring product quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
    • Participate in structured training programs designed to develop skills in process operations and maintenance.
    • Shadow experienced technicians to learn the fundamentals of machine operation, safety procedures, and process optimisation.
    • Assist in operating and monitoring process machinery and equipment to meet production targets.
    • Carry out basic process adjustments under supervision to optimize product quality and efficiency.
    • Work with senior staff to troubleshoot process issues and learn how to resolve equipment malfunctions.
    • Conduct basic quality checks and ensure products meet specified standards.
    • Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines, reporting any safety concerns to the supervisor.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with company cleanliness and safety standards.
    • Accurately record process data, maintenance activities, and any observations for process improvements.
    • Maintain proper documentation of training progress and assessments as required.
    • Contribute ideas to improve manufacturing processes and participate in initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving quality, and enhancing productivity.
    • Learn to identify and implement improvements in process operations over time.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in plastics industry or extrusion is a massive benefit.
  • Interest in learning mechanical and/or electrical systems, with a desire to develop troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and engage in ongoing training.
  • Ability to lift [specify weight limit, e.g., 25kg], stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
Working Conditions:
  • 4 week shift pattern rotation and work 12-hour shifts including nights and days.
