Senior Process Technician

- Lead the operation, monitoring, and adjustment of complex process systems to optimize production output and quality
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and work closely with engineering and production teams to implement enhancements.
- Analyse process data and performance metrics to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve product consistency.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for equipment malfunctions, process inefficiencies, and quality issues.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to perform corrective and preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
- Document and communicate all maintenance and troubleshooting activities, offering recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
- Oversee the performance of product quality checks and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Lead initiatives to reduce defects and maintain high product quality through adherence to process protocols and quality management systems.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians and trainees, sharing knowledge of best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Assist with the development and delivery of training programs for staff on operational procedures, safety, and equipment handling.
- Promote and ensure adherence to company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and hazard analyses as needed.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions related to process operations.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance, to achieve production objectives.
- Generate and present reports on process performance, improvement initiatives, and other key performance metrics to management.
- Experience in plastics industry or extrusion is a massive benefit.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process operations within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical skills, with proven expertise in troubleshooting complex systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives, with experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies being advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in using relevant software tools for data analysis, reporting, and process control.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- These employees work on a 4 week shift pattern rotation and work 12-hour shifts including nights and days.
