At AECOM, we are recruiting a Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor to join us in our Dublin office.

Here’s what you’ll do: 

Your day-to-day will include but not be limited to the following tasks and responsibilities;

The Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor will be expected to work with an Associate or Project Director to successfully manage and deliver capital investment projects. 

 
 A Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor should possess the skills and experience to lead and manage a team on a technically complex project, and for developing collaborative relationships with our clients and other team members. The Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor should possess skills to engage Tier 1 and Tier 2 Main Contractors, understand the site process, and project programs, and plot inspection plans that match the projects.
 
The Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor must possess Senior Project Manager attributes as a minimum, and possess an acute technical awareness for construction. A Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor will be a day-to-day client point of contact for projects, with a knowledgeable and proactive approach. 

Understand, monitor and update each project, with an AECOM Project Execution Plan (PEP) and ensure AECOM policies for managing AECOM projects are upheld. 

The Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor Lead will operate with an experienced team, delivering the AECOM delivery of PPP projects by engaging with parties. Additionally, the Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor will possess, a confident and leader approach in construction site positions, maintain AECOM service delivery to the highest quality, and proactively manage projects.
 
Manage and mentor junior team members to transfer knowledge and experience, to assist with AECOM delivery of service efficiently, effectively, and meeting Client expectations.
A Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor should possess the skills and experience to lead and manage a team on a technically complex project, and for developing collaborative relationships with our clients and other team members. The Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor should possess skills to engage Tier 1 and Tier 2 Main Contractors, understand the site process, and project programs, and plot inspection plans that match the projects.
 
The Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor must possess project management attributes as a minimum, and possess an acute technical awareness of construction. A Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor will be a day-to-day client point of contact for projects, with a knowledgeable and proactive approach. 

Understand, monitor, and update each projects, with an AECOM Project Execution Plan (PEP) and ensure AECOM policies for managing AECOM projects are upheld

Ideally, the Senior A&E Construction Quality Monitor will have conversed in the BCAR process on major projects, and be aware of the terminology and the roles and responsibilities attached to the Assigned Certifier (AC) role. The candidate can also have supported the AC on previous projects.


Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  • Awareness of the Building Control Act (2014), and the preparation of inspection plans on projects eligible for BCAR process, is a preferred advantage.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are key.
  • Good experience of contributing to project delivery 
  • Experience of understanding a design, detail and construction drawings generally
  • A good understanding of the detailed design, construction issue, and as-built cycle on live construction projects
  • Experience in design and build projects is an advantage
  • Experience working in another comparable consultancy environment, or with a client organization.
  • Good understanding of project Governance and procurement processes
  • Ability to develop long-term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes
  • Previous experience of managing internal resources, including the training and mentoring of more junior staff members
  • Experience with compliance assessments, current Technical Guidance Documents, and Building Regulations and their application.
  • Must have good business acumen and support Director/Associate with developing and delivering to agreed Commercial targets
  • CAD skills are an advantage
  • Excel, presentation, word, and reporting writing skills are a requirement.
  • Good IT skills, excel, word, MS Teams, and MS Sharepoint
  • Tablet site inspection reporting
