Key job responsibilities
* Design and engineer security systems for data center basis of design (BOD) projects including electronic systems, site and building elements, ensuring compliance to standards by managing the creation of owners requirements, drawings and specifications
* Supervising and approving all designs deliverables developed by the architect/engineer of record and for BOD projects at each milestones of a project
* Coordinating with all the other disciplines in the design process (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, telecom, structural, etc.)
* Using Blue Beam and other drafting technologies to work in collaboration with the design teams to produce designs in Revit/CAD. Managing scope with internal design teams for modeling and drafting
* Creating specialty templates for unique workflows within global programs
* Collaborating with security teams as a subject matter expert for optimization of security technologies, practices, and application across organizations.
* Providing technical and design support for physical security project teams
* Evaluating, coordinating, and driving BOD change management issues to resolution for consideration in BOD standards.
* Act as a subject matter expert to support implementation of new technologies
* Work regionally but also support global security teams to ensure alignment on decisions and standards
* Domestic and international travel approximately 25% of the time
A day in the life
You collaborate with your team to deliver projects. You identify and communicate issues associated with the design, development, and modification of data center technologies and their implementation. You seek to learn the business context and the technologies that make up our global infrastructure architecture. You work effectively with peer engineers and internal partners to understand their needs and identify any opportunities/problems arising from technical decisions. You invent, refine, and develop solutions to ensure they are meeting business needs and team goals. You are a passionate advocate for your customer.
About the team
The Security Solutions team provides engineering expertise and design support for security devices and solutions in data centers globally. We own and support security products throughout their lifecycle. Our scope also includes emergent global scale remediation strategic efforts that impact Data Center Security and introducing and driving business improvement initiatives increasing visibility and enabling data driven decision making.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* BA/BS degree in Engineering, or Physical Security or equivalent experience* 10+ years’ experience in physical security system design and engineering, 5+ years’ experience with one or more drafting technologies such as, REVIT, AutoCad, BlueBeam and others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Master’s degree or higher in related field* Need to have a speaking and writing functional English. The mastering of a second language is a nice to have.
* Physical Security Design experience in corrections, military, government, or large corporate environments.
* Experience living abroad, extensive travel, or demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
* Personal network of international security technology professionals
* PSP, CPP, PMP Certification
* CPTED Certification
