Overview

Swissport is seeking a Trucking Co-Ordinator to assist the Irish Trucking Operation, as part of a small team reporting to the Trucking Manager, the role will see you take shared responsibility for managing and supervising the planning of our trucks and sub-contractors throughout our logistics network in Ireland. You will oversee day-to-day operations in our trucking department at the Dublin Cargo Centre, ensuring all shipments and deliveries/collections are handled and executed in a timely and efficient manner. You will work closely with the cargo staff at Dublin, Cork and Shannon and with our Trucking offices in MAN and LHR to ensure that all trucks are correctly planned, loaded and dispatched in order to meet the high standards for quality and accuracy that is required by our customers.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of a small team, you would share responsibility to plan the daily trucking operations. Using the inhouse truck planning system to create bookings and to process the import/export trucks. Assisting in planning the capacity needed on a day to day, week to week basis, and reacting to requests for ad hoc trucks. Maintaining the IT systems daily to reflect accurately the movements of the vehicles and trailers. Coordinate with internal/external teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Coordinate trucking activities including routing, dispatching, and tracking, to provide a seamless airport to airport service. Assisting with the collating and processing of paperwork and data needed for billing purposes. Resolve any issues or concerns that arise, maintain day to day general admin tasks as required, from emails to telephones calls and face to face engagements.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

Experience of Trucking/Logistics/Air Cargo industries desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to react to issues that may arise on the fly. Proficiency in software such as Excel, Word, and logistics management systems. Flexibility to work weekends, cover holidays and sickness as required, this is a must as part of working in a small team environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workflows in an always evolving environment. Willingness to, at times, take calls “out of hours” to assist in resolving issues which may have occurred where you had been on shift.
