Credit Control Manager

Our Credit Control Manager is accountable for the entire Business Energy credit granting process, including the consistent application of our credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimising the mix of SSE Airtricity Business Energy company sales and bad debt losses.
The role will involve the management of large, high profile contracts ensuring payment is made within agreed terms, ensuring the appropriate collection activity is applied. In this role you will:
- Maintain a department organisational structure sufficient to meet all goals and objectives of the Business Energy division
- Motivate, coach and mentor the credit and collections team, ensuring that ongoing training is provided, regular one to ones occur and performance is managed
- Manage relations with the Operations and Sales teams, our local and group finance and external partners, e.g. insurance brokers
- Proactively, take ownership and investigate the largest customer debts, ensuring appropriate action is taken promptly
- Ensure all debt management activities are managed proactively and effectively, adhering to Regulatory Codes of Practice, Data Protection, and in-house procedures
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Proven experience as a people manager
- Demonstrable experience in Credit Management or as a Credit Analyst / Credit Officer
- The ability to think creatively, to innovate and resolve problems and handle routine work with limited supervision
- Previous experience of working within an environment governed by strict policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- The ability to work effectively under pressure, to set targets and deadlines
