Tax Director

This role is a key member of the tax team responsible for managing the European reporting and compliance responsibilities. The tax director provides both short and long term strategic direction and objectives as well as general support to the core business to maximize tax efficiency and effectiveness in its operations.
Responsibilities
Although not all inclusive, representative responsibilities of the role include:
Oversee tax requirements and related structuring of operations in Europe Manage and assist service providers in the preparation and review of provision and income tax compliance filings for countries such as Ireland, Switzerland, Luxembourg and others Manage proactively all audits by tax authorities Provide technical tax and project management support on local and global special projects; transfer pricing; withholding taxes; M&A transactions, etc. Apply, with effective visibility and controls, all group Transfer Pricing policies and guidelines Ensure transactions are correctly documented on an arms length basis consistent with OECD standards and other TP requirements imposed by local tax authorities Ensure a strong direct and indirect tax compliance effectiveness and culture is fully embedded Perform other duties as required by the site or business leadership teams
Requirements
Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance or other business-related discipline with CTA or Master of Taxation 10-15 years tax experience with both external tax consulting firm (preferably at a big 4 accounting firm) and in-house tax function with a large multinational corporation is preferred Excellent business acumen and finance (including accounting) knowledge Strong research and analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to develop and maintain complex tax models Manage and build relationships with internal stakeholders on a global scale, tax authorities and external consultants Proficiency in a virtual work environment, utilizing collaboration technical tools including Webex or Teams, electronic work papers, SharePoint, etc. Strong Excel skills as well as proficiency with Word and PowerPoint Ability to apply and adapt gained experiences / knowledge to new situations Demonstrate the ability to work in a continuous improvement environment Strong oral, written, interpersonal, technical communication and presentation skills-
