Job Title:

Communication Support Worker

1 year part-time fixed contract – 18 hours per week

Location:

National Learning Network, Roslyn College, Stillorgan

Job Purpose :

The role of the Communication Support Worker is to facilitate communication between the learner and others including instructors, other staff and their peers within the training environment.

Minimum Education & Experience required:

ISL Interpreter (B.A Degree) or ISL Interpreter (NFQ Level 7) or ISL Teacher (NFQ Level 7) or Deaf Studies (B.A Degree ) or Experience of being immersed in the Deaf community with a fluency that meets the

communication support requirement of the learner

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Experience of interpreting for adults/young people with a focus on social interaction and learning Experience of working in a training/educational environment Experience of working on own initiative with a professional and confident approach Experience of working with adults/young people with disabilities and managing behaviours that challenge
