Overview
Microsoft's Corporate Accounting Revenue Recognition team is responsible for the accuracy of billions of dollars of revenue across the world for United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and local statutory reporting. We are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative people leader to join our team as Revenue Recognition Group Manager. This role will provide you an opportunity to work and develop people, solve large complex problems and further develop deep revenue accounting expertise.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field AND 7+ years accounting or finance experience
o OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years accounting or finance experience
o OR equivalent experience
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, OR related field AND 10+ years of accounting OR finance experience AND 3+ years experience managing direct reports OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, OR related field AND 9+ years accounting OR finance experience AND 2+ years experience managing direct reports. Professional accounting certification Technical revenue accounting knowledge of US GAAP and specifically ASC 606 Experience with accounting systems and tools Organizational skills and ability to prioritze competing projects People management experience Ability to collaborate and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, and creating effective partnerships; ability to make the complex simple Experience within the technology industry
Responsibilities
You will lead a team of EMEA based revenue recognition specialists who evaluate customer agreements, research and document the proper revenue accounting under Accounting Standards Codification 606 (ASC 606). You will review non-standard customer agreements to evaluate revenue recognition impacts and propose solutions that align with internal policies and company objectives. You will lead a team and help resolve multiple complex issues by serving as an escalation point and drive issue resolution with senior leaders, oversee broad processes for accounting transactions, and hold the team accountable for deliverables. You will build relationships with key stakeholders (legal, revenue operations, sales, finance and strategy, etc.) to collaborate on non-routine transactions, new product offerings and process improvements. You will ensure global control activities comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). You’ll also lead global end-to-end financial cycle risk assessment and guide management and the team on all financial compliance matters. You will serve as a key stakeholder in the design and implementation for new product launches. You will represent Revenue Recognition as accounting systems specialist for projects and within team to assist with contract review efforts.Microsoft managers bring out the best in their people to achieve team and organization priorities by:
