Job Overview
TE Connectivity is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Metals Business Unit 1 team based in Galway, Ireland. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing engineering support to manufacturing processes while also spearheading the development of both existing and new process technologies within the business unit. Key Responsibilities:
Provide essential manufacturing line support to production. Lead improvement projects aimed at enhancing yield, efficiency, and capacity. Take charge of projects involving the introduction and qualification of new equipment and processes. Identify and implement solutions to quality and technical issues. Enhance manufacturing processes by conducting thorough research, designing modifications, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, in collaboration with equipment vendors. Manage overall equipment performance (OEE) through the effective utilization of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques. Explore and evaluate new process technologies to determine potential competitive advantages and cost benefits. Compile comprehensive product and process reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Ensure the maintenance and updating of manufacturing procedures as necessary. Implement equipment maintenance procedures for critical equipment. Meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, and productivity. Ensure adherence to high-quality compliance and health & safety standards.
What your background should look like:
A Level 8 Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline is essential. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role is preferred. Previous experience within the Medical Devices industry is required. Demonstrated project management experience, showcasing the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities effectively. Practical understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. Knowledge of ISO & FDA compliance. Proficiency in SolidWorks/AutoCAD would be advantageous. Strong communication skills. Experience in equipment and process qualification. Operating knowledge of Minitab software would be advantageous.
