The main duties of the post will be to undertake discovery science, secure grant funding for a research programme and educate undergraduate and postgraduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to undergraduate teaching programmes in Biochemistry. S/he will establish an independent research group to carry out high level original research in an area complementary to the School’s research interests (see www.tcd.ie/Biochemistry/research).

The School’s teaching programme includes undergraduate teaching in Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Medicine, Neuroscience, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Human Health & Disease and Radiation Therapy. The School also runs two postgraduate MSc. courses as well as contributing to other MSc. programmes. The School is based in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (www.tcd.ie/biosciences). Post Status Tenure Track - This position is a Tenure Track position which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements.

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Lecturer Salary Scale (109BN) commensurate with qualifications / experience and in line with Public Sector Pay Policy [€41,000 to €98,564 per annum] www.tcd.ie/hr/assets/pdf/monthly-academic.pdf
