Location is flexible within the UK & Ireland with occasional travel to one of Version 1’s offices required.

Job Description

Version 1 is recruiting a Head of Compliance for a newly-established role and function. As the Head of Compliance you will design, shape, lead and manage a compliance function in one of Ireland and the UK’s leading IT services businesses. You will establish and implement group-wide policies, processes and procedures and promote a compliance culture in our fast-growing, international business. You will demonstrate an expert knowledge of compliance, possess a growth mindset and have the ability to influence at a strategic level. The Head of Compliance will lead the compliance function, build its team and work on a cross-functional basis across the business demonstrating drive, leadership and commitment to our Core Values.

Job Description

As the Head of Compliance you will:

Define and communicate the compliance vision, strategy and objectives in alignment with the business plan.
Establish and implement an effective and robust compliance function, developing compliance policies, procedures and processes – you will be the Compliance Champion within our organisation.
Provide ongoing support and guidance in policy, procedure and process adherence and updates across our international business.
Monitor new laws, regulations and requirements to ensure the delivery of an effective compliance function, policies and processes.
Drive the implementation of new legislation, regulation, requirements or codes of conduct and work in a collaborative manner with impacted business teams to set down best-practice.
Conduct monitoring and reporting – identifying, evaluating and reporting potential business risks identified during the monitoring process.
Work closely with the business, including commercial, delivery, finance, HR, information security, ESG and legal.
Develop compliance training for the organisation and raise awareness of the function, processes and procedures.
Report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications

The successful candidate shall:

Hold a qualification in a legal, business, compliance or equivalent discipline and have an expert knowledge of compliance principles and frameworks.
Have successfully led and/or established an effective and robust compliance function.
Experience in managing a compliance function in the IT and/or technology sector a distinct advantage.
Have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a legal, regulatory or compliance area.
Have a minimum of 3 years’ recent relevant experience at management level having responsibility for a number of staff.
Have proven leadership skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Have excellent organisational management ability and be able to deliver proven results.
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the proven ability to develop and deliver clear key messages that cultivate a culture of compliance.
Be a proactive self-starter who is inquisitive, dynamic and action-orientated and have the proven ability to build relationships.
Be a solutions-oriented initiative-taker and problem-solver with demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.
