Commercial Demand Analyst

Fantastic opportunity here on the Cork market, this will suit someone with a strong financial analyst background and strong commercial ability.

·       Responsible for network capacity & commodity forecasting for use in business planning, tariffs, budgeting and other planning

·       Liaising with COO, Business Development, Asset Management and the wider Finance team in relation to the production of commercial projections

·       Providing analysis of long-term revenue and tariff projections of Price Control Review group

·       Taking projected volumes and translating these into individual shipper product requirements, and considering the secondary market and short-term products

·       Correlating projected volumes/peaks with what shippers are likely to book to get the total system capacity demand on a shipper or sectoral basis

·       Coordinating all different product utilisation and forecasting into the future

·       Conducting variance analysis against forecasted product utilisation, feeding back to of the parts of the organisation as needed

·       Forecasting bookings of different product types, i.e. short versus long term, and undertaking different scenarios based on this Reporting on actual demand versus projected

·       Monthly reporting on revenue versus projected and updating revenue forecasts as required

·       Collating estimates of potential growth of the network, e.g. projected numbers of new customers

·       Developing models to conduct the commercial demand forecasting including optimisation and Plexos modelling

·       Working closely with FAR Manager and Analyst in undertaking this work

·       Developing and using Business Intelligence (BI) tools including Plexos and Optimisation software to undertake scenario planning

·       Working on the annual tariff setting process including demand forecasting

·       Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Experience:                                                                                                

·       Third level degree in Maths/Engineering/Business/Finance/Economics or professional accounting qualification

·       3-5 yearsâ experience ideally in the energy industry and an excellent understanding of the regulatory environment in Ireland.

·       Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others.

·       Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions.

·       Have excellent analytical skills and be able to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements and propose and implement.

·       Ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as needed.

·       Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job

·       Ability to set own high standards of performance and delivering desired results.
