Job Description:

Market Risk Analyst: Reporting to the Director, Market Risk TDGF, the role will provide a broad range of market risk analysis, reporting, monitoring and support to relevant stakeholders. Act as a specialist in providing guidance on a range of market risk related matters within assigned areas of specialisation. Support and provide oversight, commentary, and strategic analysis in connection to team and individual initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER
  1. Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with TDGF risk appetite.
  2. Conduct analysis of daily market risk positions with associated P&L and review accuracy of reporting such as market risk dashboards before distribution helping to provide high quality monitoring and recommendations.
  3. Develop and operationalize market risk standards, policies, and processes to identify, report and mitigate overall risk exposures within the business.
  4. Support the business with analysis and reporting on market risk issues and their impact including scenario analysis.
  5. Support established enterprise-wide risk escalation, review, and approval processes with engagement across global teams.
  6. Provide analytical support in the identification and assessment of risks and make recommendations to better manage TDGF's Risk appetite - perform statistical analysis related to the methodologies deployed for risk measurement.
  7. Continuously review and identify risk trends and exposures. Interact with stakeholders to support their understanding of market risk.

SHAREHOLDER
  1. Develop and maintain knowledge of existing and emerging risks and trends across the business and assess potential impacts to TDGF exposures.
  2. Adhere to policies and frameworks or methodologies that relate to trading (VaR and Stress) and non-trading (EVE, NIIS) exposures.
  3. Conduct reporting and analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions and make recommendations on programs/ policies/ practices.
  4. Identify data quality issues and contribute to problem resolution. Proactively identify opportunities for process efficiencies and develop a comprehensive understanding of the methodologies employed.
  5. Write business requirements and participate as a subject matter expert in cross-functional work streams for small scale projects. Proactively seek to improve existing reporting and processes and explore opportunities for automation.
  6. Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and control functions aligning with enterprise.

  7. Keep others informed about all relevant information, with a view to actively supporting TDGF's business strategy and goals.

BREADTH & DEPTH
  1. Understand emerging regulations impacting market risk. In particular, the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB)
  2. Experienced working professional providing specialized business services, advisory or processes / program support within areas related to Market Risk.
  3. Responsible for oversight of outsourced market risk items
  4. Requires experienced, conceptual, and practical knowledge within market risk and knowledge of broader product areas.
  5. Leads projects or work streams within broader projects for market risk and may be accountable for managing ongoing activities, processes, and functional programs.
  6. Works within broad guidelines / policies and independently performs tasks from end to end. Work performed under minimal management guidance and supervision.
  7. Solves moderately complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions and methodologies.
  8. Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  9. Conveys business context when providing guidance within field of specialty to internal or external stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  1. Undergraduate degree.
  2. Progress towards CFA / FRM preferred but not required.
  3. 5+ years relevant experience.
