Are you a Chef looking for an opportunity to showcase your skills in a busy kitchen? Are you excited about working with the freshest of organic ingredients, knowing the source and having access to the farm of origin? Honestly Farm Kitchen in Strandhill, Co. Sligo practices 'farm to plate' at its best.

We are now seeking an experienced Chef to join our team. Located in the beautiful seaside village of Strandhill on the Wild Atlantic Way, our restaurant offers simple, tasty food made with great ingredients.

You will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, working with our team to ensure successful delivery of our menu. Under the guidance of our new culinary lead, you will help develop our seasonal menu cycles.

The Role:

Full Time Monday to Sunday shifts. Up to 40 hours per week. Daily breakfast and lunch, evening service Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We want someone who will:

  1. Prepare, cook and present dishes according to our SOPs and recipes, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation in the kitchen.
  2. Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  3. Ensure food preparation according to our Prep Lists.
  4. Ensure scheduled cleaning tasks are carried out to the highest standards.
  5. Use our Kelsius system to maintain HACCP records.
  6. Assist with the ordering and close management of stock.
  7. Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are implemented and continually adhered to.
  8. Be part of the team including our Kitchen Manager and Head of Food that develops our periodic menu cycles.

Additionally:

  1. Report to Kitchen Manager.
  2. Be flexible in your working schedule.

The Person:

You will be someone who:

  1. Holds a food-related qualification - essential to the role.
  2. Is an excellent team player.
  3. Works well in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Demonstrates an interest in sustainable food practices and great tasting food.
  5. Is able to work holidays and weekends.

You should apply if:

  1. You are a Chef with at least 3 years’ experience who enjoys the challenges of working in a busy kitchen.
  2. You are excited about working with organic food advocating a farm to table philosophy.
  3. You want to be a part of a team who prioritise the customer experience and support each other to be the best.

On-farm, subsidised, rental accommodation in lakeside cottage is optional for applicants who have their own transport and wish to commute to the restaurant (approx 40 minutes). Lake frontage and use of kayaks/fishing boat etc.
