This is a full time/direct hire position offering a competitive salary with full benefits package.

Title of position: Director of Maintenance (DOM)

Reports to: General Manager

Supervisory Responsibility: This job has supervisory responsibilities.

Job Summary: The Maintenance Director is the direct liaison to the FAA, state and customer. Overall responsibility for every function of maintenance and enforces adherence to the RSM and QCM (repair station manual and quality control manual) as required by the FAA.

Essential Functions:

  • Hire personnel with proper qualifications and maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Build a team environment ensuring all reports feel valued.
  • Ensure the growth of the repair station by analyzing potential work and revising the repair station capability list as required.
  • Track individual training records and training needs.
  • Develop and provide additional training necessary to grow the repair station.
  • Ensure adherence to RSM personnel requirements section.
  • Conduct daily briefs with employees, ensuring they are on track with timelines and do not have issues that may preclude them in performance of their duties.
  • Schedule maintenance personnel hours to maintain efficient operations of the maintenance department.
  • Ensure that only current data is on hand and used.
  • Calibrate and properly track tools.
  • Inspect facility routinely to ensure it continues to meet FAA 145 guidelines.
  • Schedule and track maintenance including outside customers.
  • Perform maintenance according to 135 operations manual if the Repair Station serves 135 operations.
  • Conduct arrival inspections to document damage prior to acceptance as well as customer maintenance issues.
  • Inspect and track parts from arrival to installation as required by RSM/QCM.
  • Perform aircraft work in accordance with Maintenance Manual and the RSM/QCM. Random inspection by the D.O.M ensures personnel adhere to the rules.
  • Complete ALL documentation prior to release of aircraft:
    • Maintenance hours have been properly tracked.
    • All parts have been accounted for.
    • Individual work items have been signed by both the performer of maintenance and the chief inspector.
    • Aircraft paper logs or computer-based logs have been updated.
    • FAA Regulatory forms submitted if/as required.
    • Customer has been fully briefed on what work was performed and if it will have any effect on control of the aircraft.
    • Ensure invoices are paid in full prior to release of aircraft.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, with 5+ years of aircraft maintenance management experience.
  • Airframe & Power plant Certificates.
  • Willing and able to work varied hours and schedules, as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Customer relations skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or higher.
  • Additional related training or technical school education.
  • 2+ years FAR 145 Quality Assurance Maintenance experience.
