Position Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly respected team within the Group Finance function at CRH. The Accounting Advisory team is the Group’s U.S. GAAP & IFRS accounting function, partnering with senior stakeholders across a range of teams in CRH Group, CRH divisional offices, and operations.

The team provides practical solutions to accounting complexities, supporting business development and tax teams, preparing opening balance sheets for newly acquired businesses, and responding to ad-hoc U.S. GAAP and IFRS queries.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Developing the Group accounting manual under U.S. GAAP/IFRS;
  • Contributing to quarterly external reporting tasks;
  • Coaching and mentoring junior team members;
  • Resolving U.S. GAAP/IFRS accounting queries;
  • Presenting accounting matters to various teams;
  • Assessing the U.S. GAAP/IFRS accounting implications of transactions;
  • Acting as a business partner across the Group;
  • Supporting newly acquired businesses to align with accounting policies;
  • Driving continuous process improvement initiatives.

Experience / Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or related field;
  • Qualified accountant with a strong financial accounting background (U.S. CPA preferred);
  • Minimum 5 years of PQE;
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting standards under U.S. GAAP and IFRS;
  • Prior experience with a U.S. listed company preferred;
  • Experience in business combinations and financial instruments is advantageous.
