Job Description The Organisation Stewarts Care is a long-established voluntary organisation providing comprehensive community-based services to people with intellectual disabilities. We support people across a wide range of services within residential settings, day services, supported independent living, job advocacy and vocational training. Role Purpose To provide a person centred and quality driven physiotherapy service as part of a multi- disciplinary team to adults who have a primary intellectual disability. This incorporates physiotherapy assessment, planning and implementing person centred physiotherapy interventions based on the individual needs of the Service User. The post holder will work in conjunction with members of the multidisciplinary team and will attend team meetings relevant to the service user needs to enhance the quality of life of the Service Users of Stewarts Care. Role requirements Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU - candidates must state CORU registration number on application; or CORU application number and date of submission if still awaiting registration number in the case of section 91 applicants. Demonstrate sufficient clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice to carry out duties and responsibilities of the post. Demonstrate ability to plan and deliver care in an effective and resourceful manner within a model of person-centred care. Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development. Knowledge of HIQA, the Health Act 2007- 2013, New Directions & Mental Health in Intellectual disability. Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills Planning, organisational skills and effective time management skills Clinical experience working with adults with complex physical and intellectual disabilities is desirable. Evidence of participation in continued professional development e.g., Postural Management, Orthotics and Intellectual disability preferable.
