Overview

Citco's dedicated in-house Privacy Team is growing and is looking for a privacy [compliance/ operations] specialist with a genuine interest in privacy and data protection to join its team to support and oversee ongoing compliance activities. Based out of our Dublin office (with flexible remote working opportunities), this role would involve close interaction with our Chief Privacy Officer, Data Protection Officer and Data Privacy Counsel to support the development and implementation of our global data privacy compliance program.

This is a strategic hire with no direct reports. However, for the right candidate displaying desirable management and leadership qualities, managerial roles would present themselves as the Privacy Team continues to grow.

You will have a genuine interest in data protection and be familiar with General Data Protection Regulations. Ideally, you already have some experience working in a data protection compliance role or environment, have a willingness to learn, and are to apply your knowledge in practice.

Core responsibilities

  • Working with Privacy Team members to develop, maintain and develop Citco's privacy program reflecting minimum standards and requirements in line with regulatory and legislative obligations and good industry practice
  • Support the delivery, communication, and embedding of privacy policies and processes
  • Assist with data privacy inquiries, incidents and requests (internally and externally), working with our colleagues and clients to evidence our compliance and ensure their requirements are met
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records as required by applicable legislation - e.g. Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs), Data Processing Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Data Transfer Impact Assessments (DTIAs), and personal data incidents/breaches
  • Proactively collaborate on privacy initiatives with Citco business teams spread across time zones in multiple locations
  • Assist with coordination of cross-functional projects relating to privacy matters balancing priorities and needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Developing repositories of historic Privacy interpretative positions, advices and determinations
  • Recording and coordinating supervisory authority guidelines, releases and regulatory updates
  • Maintaining version control on key Privacy Team templates
  • Act as a point of contact for and coordinate with local office Privacy Liaisons
  • Support Privacy Team communications, newsletter and team events
  • Creation of Privacy Team specific procedures and co-ordination of Privacy Team templates to achieve enhanced operational efficiencies
  • Other privacy and data protection related duties as required

About you

  • 2-5 years demonstrable compliance experience with exposure to GDPR and privacy compliance practices being preferred
  • Familiar with working in a dynamic international organisation (preferably financial services)
  • Professional privacy certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/M) or equivalent desirable but not essential
  • Experience with compliance risk assessments and privacy risk and control assessments
  • Understand how to prepare and undertake internal audits of current procedures
  • Robust co-ordination and project management skills with ability to collaborate and build relationships across multiple stakeholder teams
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and projects
  • Commercially aware
  • Clear and concise communication skills – fluent in English (both written and verbal)
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn and develop in role
  • Sense of humor essential
