Current Need:

SK biotek Ireland is looking for an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join their team permanently. This position is based at the R&D Centre in Swords, Co Dublin, where technical and operational expertise, including analytical support, is available for the development and manufacturing of clinical and commercial products.

Position Description:

The Senior Analytical Chemist will provide technical expertise to develop and validate analytical methods for small molecule APIs and intermediates. They will lead new product projects and collaborate with various departments to ensure the successful and compliant manufacture of products. Additionally, they will supervise and offer technical guidance to analytical chemists.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical expertise for analytical method development and validation
  • Lead analytical technology transfer
  • Supervise and mentor analytical chemists
  • Draft and oversee execution of Analytical Qualification Plans (AQPs) and protocols
  • Ensure GMP compliance and accurate completion of laboratory operations
  • Review batch paperwork to maintain procedure compliance
  • Provide support for instrumentation and laboratory investigations
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to a culture of high performance
  • Meet with manager for performance discussions and development opportunities
  • Coordinate training of personnel in new techniques
  • Champion safe work practices and high standards of housekeeping
  • Set performance standards and motivate analytical chemists

Required Key Skills and Experience include:

  • Preferably a BSC/MSc in chemistry with minimum 5 years' experience in analytical activities
  • Experience in personnel management or team leadership
  • Strong core competencies in teamwork, communication, and technical writing
  • Solid technical background in chemistry, especially analytical chemistry
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines
  • Good Troubleshooting skills
  • Openness to change and new ideas
  • Knowledge of FDA and European GMP requirements
