Are you our next Senior Solicitor within our Data Privacy/GDPR department?

Location: Dublin, as part of our hybrid working model.

Grade: Associate Director

Contract type: Permanent

A snapshot of your peer group:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister, admitted to practice law in Ireland, with a minimum of 3-5 years PQE in GDPR/Data Privacy Law.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR and other data protection laws and regulations.
  • Excellent legal research and analysis skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in managing and advising clients in data protection matters.
  • Litigation experience related to data privacy is a plus.
  • Professional certifications related to data protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) are desirable but not mandatory.

  • Provide expert legal counsel to clients on a wide range of GDPR and Data Privacy matters, including data protection compliance, data breach response, and privacy impact assessments.
  • Monitor changes in data protection laws and regulations and ensure clients' compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate data processing agreements, privacy policies, and other legal documents related to data protection and privacy.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to data breaches, including notifications to regulatory authorities and affected individuals, and help clients mitigate potential legal risks.
  • Conduct and review Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to identify and mitigate privacy risks in data processing activities.
  • Provide training and advice to clients on data protection best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in handling data privacy-related litigation and disputes as needed.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals and departments within the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
