The Head of Internal Audit will hold overall responsibility for supervising the internal audit function of Booking Holdings Financial Services International Limited. Directly accountable to the BHFS Board, this role also involves overseeing Internal Audit matters for Booking Holdings Financial Services in the UK and the US. Operating within the broader Booking Holdings Inc Internal Audit team, the Head of Internal Audit reports to the BHI Audit Director and indirectly to the BHFSI Board. Responsibilities include managing and revising the BHFS internal audit charter, formulating a risk-based audit plan, and ensuring timely actions and reporting of audit findings.

The Head of Internal Audit role is a pre-approved controlled function (PCF-13), requiring the successful candidate to undergo fitness and probity checks and obtain approval from the Central Bank of Ireland before commencing the role. In addition to overseeing audit procedures at BHFS, this position involves participating in other Global Internal Audit activities within the company's Brands, including operational audits.

Do you want to:

Conduct thorough risk assessments across the business independently; Assist in developing, planning, and supervising the execution of an annual risk-based internal audit plan; Carry out audits within the BHFS group; Engage in audit procedures across various business units within the BHI Group; Ensure timely delivery of audit work in line with set standards and regulations; Assess and report on governance, risk, control environment, and management awareness within respective areas; Undertake risk-based audit work that provides effective challenges to management, communicating results to the Executive Management Team; Present reports highlighting necessary actions to be taken, influencing prompt resolution of audit issues; Build strong relationships with stakeholders at different levels, ensuring identification and resolution of all audit issues; Provide updates at relevant Board, Committees, and Executive Management Team meetings; Supervise the continuous enhancement of audit methodology and practices to ensure consistency and quality within the audit team; Maintain proactive relationships with the Board, regulator, and internal stakeholders while adhering to set standards by the Central Bank of Ireland. Uphold existing Fitness & Probity Standards and other issued Conduct Standards.

Requirements:

Extensive experience in external or internal audit, specializing in auditing control functions within the financial services/fintech sector; Membership in a relevant auditing body; Profound knowledge of Fitness & Probity Standards, Common Conduct Standards, and Additional Conduct Standards outlined by the Central Bank of Ireland; Strong communication skills for effective reporting to the Board and Senior Management, articulating business risks and controls clearly; Honest, proactive, and responsible with a keen attention to detail; Proactive in managing audit and special projects, seeking to add value; A team player with exceptional leadership and project management capabilities, overseeing multiple projects concurrently; Willingness to challenge the status quo; Previous experience in a PCF-13 position.
