- 2 years of experience in a policy-related role, focused on online content moderation or ancillary policy enforcement frameworks.
- Experience in policy guideline scripting, incubation and advanced testing.
- Experience in content or business generation policy, anti-abuse operations or abuse fighting at scale in the online space.
- Knowledge of the technology sector and the key policy issues affecting the internet such as advertising, free expression, and online safety.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into simple, clear language.
- Excellent business acumen, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
- Excellent technical policy implementation skills.
The Google Policy team's mission is to promote a positive experience for users, advertisers, partners and Googlers. We balance freedom of expression, access to information, brand impact and user experience to transform Google's principles into consistent guidelines for our users' content and behavior on our products. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders, from engineers to sales managers to attorneys, to reach consensus on policy issues. You will develop content policies, support training and escalations for the policies after product launch and build expertise in areas like Internet hate speech and online cyberbullying. You will have leadership, communication, project management, and people management skills.
Trust and Safety's Creator Experience team works to help Creators make it on YouTube by providing a consistent and clear policy experience, protecting ad business by enforcing our guidelines on brand unsafe content at scale, and aligning with regulatory and industry standards through proactive engagement. We work on practical elements of Creator behavior such as making appeals easier, more detailed and faster as well as ensuring policy launches are more seamless. This team focuses on making the experience of being a Creator better, through ensuring that business generation policy is easily understood, open to change and reflects the ever-changing world of the Creator ecosystem. We work to make the Advertiser-friendly content guidelines a set of rules that Creators can live with, as well as live by. - Enforce policy decisions for YouTube advertiser friendly guidelines.
- Implement policy principles into actionable enforcement guidelines for our video rater pool.
- Review controversial and sometimes offensive video content to determine whether or not they are brand safe.
- Manage escalations with a fast turn-around time to define and deliver the best action plan.
- Research and stay up to date on key trends and suspicious patterns in the policy area.
