About the team

Department: Technical Operations

Reports to: Functional Lead for Chemistry

Our Chemistry Team consists of 33 highly qualified and welcoming professionals. We engage in cross-functional collaboration with Engineers and Analysts to provide innovative solutions to our clients. Our goal as a team is to achieve excellence through effective teamwork.

Principal Duties and Objectives

  • Steer research activities in the laboratory and manage the experimental workplan to maintain APC's technical/engineering workflows, ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Lead tech transfer, development, and optimization of processes in various development areas in small molecule chemistry.
  • Analyze experimental data and technical findings, collaborate with the project team to formulate strategies for project success.
  • Author, review, and approve technical materials and client-facing information.
  • Apply specialist knowledge in process development and problem-solving utilizing chemistry principles.
  • Implement APC's workflows into commercial research projects to achieve high standards.
  • Organize and present data effectively, represent the organization at events.
  • Operate to GLP standards in an R&D laboratory.
  • Minimum 5+ years' industry experience in process development support; or Minimum of 7+ years' industry experience (MSc qualified); or Minimum of 10+ years' industry experience (bachelor's qualified).
  • Work proficiently in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experienced in pharmaceutical process development and application of core chemistry principles.
  • Proficient in applying PAT to pharmaceutical process development.
  • Skilled in technical coaching, mentoring, and developing experimental plans.
  • Self-motivated with excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and supervise a PD/MSAT laboratory.
