Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for production of 3D Construction models from base information - PID's, Scan of facility and Cloud data.
  • Provision of construction detailing on the systems to enable the automatic production of isometrics and BOM.
  • Clash management on all systems.
  • Strong capabilities in reading and interpreting P&IDs and project specifications.
  • Ability to analyse and critique design intent models against P&IDs and update the model to reflect the IFC information.
  • Interaction and co-ordination with construction teams to ensure the constructability of projects.
  • Design and detailing of services support systems.
  • Adherence to company CAD and BIM manuals and processes
  • Collaboration with other trades and project teams.
  • Field surveying and verification
  • Management of drawing schedule
  • Development of models and reports in line with project scheduling requirements.
  • Problem solving and resolution of co-ordination and design roadblocks.
  • Production of GA's and detailing sheets.
  • Attendance at design and construction reviews.
  • Assistance in the overall development of the BIM protocols and systems.
  • Training and mentoring of new entry staff on completion of training modules.
  • Liaison with Leo Lynch site staff in interpreting and amending models.
  • Ensure integration of models into federated model for overall coordination.
  • Development of 3D co-ordinated services and structure layouts for clash control
  • Responsible for the project drawing management and maintenance.
  • Development of mechanical & process systems and designs, coordinated building services layouts, management of drawing registers and standards.
  • The production of builders works schedules and associated drawings.
  • Production of 3D design drawings, prefabrication isometrics and details.
  • Ensure correct fittings/components are used throughout to enable accurate fabrication and constructability.
  • Include accurate piping supports as required.
  • Carry out clash detection to ensure a clash-free design.
  • Collaborate with engineers, other trade disciplines and other team members to ensure quality.
  • Generate Piping Isometrics (ISOs) and verify accuracy.
  • Document management using BIM360 & other similar Common data Environments (CDEs).
  • Complete material procurement schedules.
  • Complete material requisitions.
  • Programming (timelines) for projects.
  • Attend design, client & site meetings as required with sub-contractors, client consultants and GC to ensure correct installation
  • Co-ordinate installation of mechanical services with other trades.
  • Ensure QA/QC compliance.
  • Current safepass.

Candidate requirements:

The following are essential requirements for the role:

  • 3rd Level Engineering or CAD / BIM qualification or Trades background with suitable CAD skills.
  • Experience of 5+ years using AutoCAD Plant 3D within plant / piping design
  • Good working knowledge of the following:

Carbon Steel, Stainless-Steel, and PVC pipe and fittings.

Piping supports / Unistrut Systems.

Piping fabrication and installation.

  • Proficient in producing, reading, QA checking and comprehend piping isometrics.
  • Proficient in reading P&IDs and schematics.
  • Familiar with working with scans & point clouds.
  • Motivated individual with good communication and organisational skills.

Additional experience is beneficial in the following:

Experience of 5+ years in one of the following software within plant / piping design:

  • Revit MEP.
  • AutoCAD.
  • Navisworks.
  • BIM 360 or similar.
  • Procore, Asite, Viewpoint or similar.
  • Recap or other Scan2BIM software.
