Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Finance office reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

  • Line management responsibility and oversight of the finance team.
  • Have responsibility for accurate accounting records and providing financial reports for the organisation,
reporting timely, that are accurate and consistent with the financial accounts.

  • Accounts preparation and General Ledger management. Assume responsibility for balance sheet control
reconciliations and trial balance on a monthly basis, providing explanations and analysis for all balances.
Development and implementation of improvements to existing processes for financial reporting/ oversight
function.

  • Prepare the first draft of the Finance Board report with explanations of variances, forecasts and cashflows.
  • Preparation of monthly and year end accounts, with appropriate commentary for the organisation and the
board.

  • Co-ordination of the annual audit process, engagement with external auditors and delivery of outputs to key
internal and external stakeholders as required, including preparation of statutory financial statements and
partner reporting.

  • Preparation of annual budgets and ongoing analysis of variances, providing commentary on Variances/ risks
etc. Review the performance against budget by division and with managers to improve financial performance.

  • Manage and Assist with Internal Audits. Maintenance of asset register.
  • Lead and manage the lifecycle of public funded grant application processes, from application to submission,
including vouched files.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and customers including corporate, public
and affiliate bodies. Management of all Financial queries from internal and external parties.

  • Ensure compliance with internal and externally driven Policies and Procedures. Drive accountability for
controls into the relevant departments to enable Finance to act as reviewer and advisor of best practice.

  • Continual review and development of best practice Financial Accounting and Control procedures to maximise
impact and efficiency. Implementation of various cost control measures and overhead management, cognisant
of public procurement policies.

  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Preparing monthly and quarterly sales
invoices and liaising with department teams regarding fee calculations, collections and receipts.

  • Income audit and processing daily/weekly.
  • Reconciliation of bank account on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Preparation of bi-monthly VAT returns and the annual VAT RTD. Prepare and file VAT returns.
  • Management of the weekly and monthly payroll including analysis and control.
  • Reviewing and recording employee expense claims in line with company procedures and preparing payment
runs.

  • Provide accounting support to on a cross functional basis.
  • Lead, coach and develop team members and colleagues in financial aptitudes on an ongoing basis.
  • Support Executive team with queries, reporting and ad hoc tasks.
