Job Title Senior Software Engineer - Data Streaming

The Senior API Engineer, in cooperation with a diverse delivery team, will focus on creating top-notch streaming solutions to bolster Fiserv's business procedures and data analytics strategy.

What does a great Snr Software Engineer (Data Streaming) do?

  • Deliver robust and high-volume technology solutions crafted in Java & Spring framework.
  • Construct industry-standard and strong Data streaming solutions utilizing technologies like Kafka and Snowflake.
  • Aid in designing data pipelines that scale, accommodating new business needs and projected data volumes.
  • Create fault-tolerant applications with error-handling mechanisms to minimize production downtime.
  • Utilize coding expertise to enhance software reliability, maintainability, readability, simplicity, performance, security (understanding OWASP), and testability.
  • Work across various database technologies, encompassing relational and non-relational systems (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Collaborate with DevOps specialists to devise monitoring dashboards and alerts for effective team monitoring and alerting setups.

What you will need to have:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
  • Minimum 5-6 years' experience developing software applications in an Agile setting.
  • Recent experience in Java/Spring Frameworks, Spring Boot development teams.
  • Proficiency in messaging Architectures such as Kafka, MQ, and ESB technologies.
  • Over 4 years of hands-on software development practice encompassing design, coding, debugging, and testing object-oriented code.
  • Experience in database design, performance optimization, and tuning.
  • High proficiency in modern CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
  • Expertise in API integrations and performance optimization.

What would be nice to have:

  • Background in the financial/banking sector, particularly familiarity with the payments industry (ISO8583, POS, etc.), is beneficial.
  • Experience in Cloud Migration (Azure/PCF/Openshift/AWS).
  • Thorough knowledge of complex IT environments, covering networking, databases, security, and performance.
  • Understanding of network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, SSH, FTP, SMTP).
