Overview

Reporting to the Training Manager, daa ASTO, there is an exciting opportunity available for a Permanent Security Training Instructor.

The main goal of this position is to collaborate within a team to provide and enhance security training programs to all daa employees and third parties when needed. All training sessions will comply with current NCASP and EU requirements. The selected candidate will also assess all competencies necessary for IAA certification.

This role is primarily located at Dublin Airport, with the possibility of traveling and working in locations other than Dublin Airport for training and certification purposes. This role is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining IAA certified instructor and approved examiner status. The successful candidate must be available to work a varying schedule covering all days of the week with different shift patterns throughout the year.

Qualifications

  • QQI level 6 or higher in training and development or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a security-related setting.
  • Experience in designing training programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting training within the last 5 years.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills for administrative tasks and IT knowledge for presentation setups.
  • Strong attention to detail is crucial for this role.
  • Excellent record-keeping and report-writing abilities.
  • Capable of working in a dynamic environment.
  • Aligned with daa values and leadership standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide specialized Aviation Security instructional programs.
  • Fulfill airport training needs utilizing various learning methods such as interactive, gamification, and traditional approaches.
  • Conduct specialized Aviation training both in-person and remotely, and offer certification support.
  • Enhance training and certification continually by utilizing observation, feedback, and benchmarking for improved curriculum and delivery.
  • Supervise a group of 20 – 30 students throughout their training sessions.
  • Guide trainees towards achieving daa's high standards.
  • Review exam papers accurately for all training and certification exams.
  • Make sure all training documents are completed accurately and ready for inspection promptly.
  • Respond to customer, stakeholder, or operational needs that go beyond assigned duties.
  • Meet set objectives and quality standards consistently to deliver high-quality performance.
  • Maintain professionalism in alignment with daa's values and standards.
  • Provide assistance to the airport community, collaborating with the entire ASTO team and stakeholders.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Head of Training or Training Manager, daa Aviation Security Training Organisation.
  • Complete Airport Security Screener Training upon starting employment.
  • Attain and sustain certified IAA instructor status within the first 6 months of hire.
  • Obtain and maintain IAA examiner status for practical and theoretical IAA certification exams after 24 months of becoming an instructor.
