Job Objectives

This is a position covering Maternity Leave.

The main responsibility of the Behavioural Specialist is to conduct Functional Assessments, develop Multi-Element Behaviour Support Plans (MEBSP), and enhance the quality of life by teaching new skills. The role also involves promoting Positive Behaviour Support by ensuring quality control and enhancing Personal Plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Live our Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Manage an individual caseload.
  • Travel to different locations as needed.
  • Complete Functional Assessments when necessary.
  • Collaborate with relevant partners to develop Multi-Element Behaviour Support Plans (MEBSPs).
  • Supervise the implementation and monitoring of each MEBSP.
  • Provide training to frontline staff.
  • Ensure all MEBSPs meet regulatory standards and are of the highest quality.
  • Quality check Personal Plans and create improvement plans as needed.
  • Stay updated on professional accreditation and development.
  • Participate in clinical supervision sessions.
  • Work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Contribute to service development within a Positive Behaviour Support framework.

Skills Requirement

Qualification:

  • Psychology Degree or equivalent.
  • MSc ABA or equivalent.
  • BCBA preferred but not required.

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with relevant standards and legislation.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years in a similar role or health/social care environment.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of making critical decisions and recommendations.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced team environment.
  • Good listener with excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and flexible.
  • History of effective caseload management.
