Highfield Healthcare which incorporates Highfield Hospital and Hampstead Clinic Services the "Approved Centre" registered by the Mental Health Commission and Nursing Home Services including Elmhurst Nursing Home and the Alzheimer Care Centre registered by HIQA.

Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. Out of hours work may be required from time to time for on-going IT project implementations (e.g. Server Upgrade).

Reporting Relationship

The post holder is accountable to the Head of IT.

Purpose of the Post

Under the supervision of the Head of IT, the ICT Project Lead is responsible for the planning, conducting and implementing of any technical or business process improvement projects within the organisation. This includes the maintenance and development of all network infrastructure and applications and providing third level support to users of Highfield Healthcare IT systems and infrastructure.

In the absence of the Head of IT to deputise for them and act up for the time period.

Key Duties and Responsibilities*

As directed by the Head of IT standard duties and responsibilities include:

  • Leading, planning, coordinating and implementing ICT development projects and any business improvement process projects through technology enhancements.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/suppliers for the successful execution of projects.
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outcomes.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and provide regular project updates.
  • Prepare and maintain all project documentation and standard operating procedures as an outcome of any projects delivered.
  • Business analysis and evaluating new business needs and requirements while also ensuring existing systems are used to full potential and effectiveness, liaising where necessary with system and business owners as well as any other relevant departments.
  • Proactively identifying process improvements and implementing solutions using standard project management principles.
  • Maintain and enforce IT policies/procedures in line with GDPR for all projects.
  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
  • In conjunction with the Systems Administrator, monitor and ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of the HFH network, hardware and systems.
  • Carry out any preventative maintenance projects on existing systems & infrastructure and develop, plan, manage and implement system improvements and modifications.
  • Management and maintenance of Backups and Disaster Recovery systems.
  • Through education, information and coaching, supporting users on how best to use IT resources.
  • Supervision of ICT team members.
  • Keeping self-up to date with latest developments of systems, industry trends and developments.
  • Escalate matters of urgency and importance to the Head of IT as appropriate
  • Provide emergency 24 x 7 on-call support on a rotating basis

Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and/ or experience

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 4-5 years of successful IT project management experience required.
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar Hospital/Healthcare environment beneficial
  • Experience designing and implementing technical solutions to assist business or operational issues.
  • Experience administrating Windows Server instances in highly available environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Desktop/Server, IOS and HyperV
  • Experience implementing & supporting enterprise LAN/WAN networks
  • Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, routing, load-balancing, SMTP
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role & to be solutions driven
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand business processes
  • Self-confidence and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and listening skills
