Role Purpose:

The innovations & special projects lead is responsible for developing and delivering strategic projects that will drive and deliver the long term Consumer objectives across all segments. For this you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, be highly structured in your approach & have a passion for working with and communicating with others.
The role will involve working alongside the key stakeholders within Consumer to identify growth & customer opportunities and formulate strategies that leads to Vodafone continually outperforming our competition and delivering best in class customer experiences. You will be responsible for demonstrating a strong customer focus and external orientation to bring new ideas and thinking to Consumer.
The role will also require a strong strategic mindset, exceptional analytical skills, good understanding of communications and IT technology and an excellent track record of successfully defining strategic plans.
You will also be required to lead regular discussions at Director level within Vodafone, where clarity of thought & communication, based on deep insight and rigorous methodology is crucial.

Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities:

Deliver on the growth ambition for our existing segment portfolios through creation of a pipeline of concepts from insight to idea to consumer validation and through to successful execution in market
Work closely with the Consumer Leadership Team to develop our long-term customer thinking, strategy and 3 year plan
Lead longer term segment development and strategy, ensuring alignment with market opportunities and consumer insight through developing concepts, test and learn, fine tune design and building longer term roadmap for success
On behalf of the Marketing Tribe team lead on the prioritization of the rolling Consumer backlog. Ensure alignment across Marketing Tribe and Consumer as a whole
Working alongside Proposition Mangers and Product Owners through distilling market analysis, customer and competitive intelligence, industry and technology trends into usable insight for compelling strategy formulation
Lead regular strategy review workshops across Consumer to understand and identify customer trends & channel developments and opportunities that could have an impact on our strategies or our future ability to compete effectively

We Are Looking For You, If You Have:

Minimum 5 years Marketing/Consulting experience with a focus on proposition/product ideation, design & development
Experience at formulating strategy as part of a product management/ commercial/ marketing position and/or through a management consulting/ strategy role Experience working cross functionally & delivering on time and under pressure
Strong focus on Customer experience with a result driven attitude and detail-oriented approach, while being comfortable to navigate through ambiguity to define direction and recommendations in an effective and timely manner
Understanding of our products and services; high level of commercial expertise is required including understanding of product P&L, unit economics, profitability and product lifecycle management
Education to a degree level or highly relevant compensating work experience; previous telecommunications / other services industry marketing experience advantageous
Solid communications & presentation skills (written & verbal)
