CloudWatch is an observability service tailored for developers, system operators, SREs, and IT managers. CloudWatch gathers monitoring and operational data through logs, metrics, and events, offering a unified view of AWS resources, applications, services on AWS, and on-premises servers.
Customers leverage CloudWatch to set precise alarms, visualize logs and metrics in tandem, automate actions, troubleshoot issues, and uncover insights to enhance their applications' performance and ensure seamless operation.
The CloudWatch team in Dublin is expanding, and we are seeking outstanding software development engineers to shape the future CloudWatch experience.
CloudWatch stands as one of the foremost real-time data platforms worldwide, handling over 13 quadrillion metric observations per month. This demands CloudWatch teams to innovate on an unparalleled scale.

CloudWatch is a part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), which drives product advancements — ranging from core services like Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently introducing new product innovations that set AWS's services apart in the industry.
As a member of the UC organization, you will play a role in the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services within AWS.
In the AWS UC realm, roles in Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) cater to AWS customers in need of specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in an agile team to design, develop, and maintain highly available, extensively scaled systems utilized by millions of users globally.
- Create and implement sophisticated software of the highest quality for the services owned by you and your team.
- Expand our services across all AWS Regions.
- Investigate operational issues in-depth to identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers.
A Day in the Life:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Non-internship experience in professional software development
- Proficiency in designing or architecting new and existing systems
- Ability to program in modern languages like Java, C++, or C#, with a focus on object-oriented design

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience across the software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing
