Role

Tennis Ireland is looking for a Communications and Marketing Officer to join the passionate and hard working team at our new Head Office on the Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

We are seeking a talented professional to devise and deliver a Communications and Marketing plan to service our stakeholders and improve the visibility of tennis in Ireland.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Devise and deliver a Communications & Marketing plan in line with Tennis Ireland's Strategy.
  • Develop and execute of brand and marketing campaigns across all relevant channels including email, ezine, website and social media. Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication platforms.
  • Manage and maintain Tennis Ireland's digital presence including social media platforms and website, ensuring content is appropriate, relevant and engaging.
  • Develop a planned content calendar for all communication platforms with the goal to significantly increase the visibility of tennis across all media platforms in Ireland.
  • Identify and develop new social media opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with key stakeholders in Irish tennis and ensure clear communications in relation to our strategic plan and our ambitions at all levels of our all-island organisation; prioritising our staff, our clubs and members, our coaches and officials, our volunteers, our provincial councils, our board, our performance players and their families, Sport Ireland, Sport Northern Ireland, Local Authorities and the media.
  • Foster strong relationships with Tennis Ireland members by providing timely and relevant updates by ezine and promoting member-exclusive benefits.
  • Maintain and develop working relationships with key journalists and relevant media contacts.
  • Create and issue all press releases and media statements.
  • Maximise and manage all media opportunities to ensure increased visibility for tennis in Ireland and a positive profile of Tennis Ireland.
  • Oversee the management of accreditation and ticketing requirements for major events.
  • Support the Chief Executive with relationship management of Sponsors and the fulfilment of sponsorship obligations.
  • Provide regular status updates to the Chief Executive and Board on the progress against strategic targets.
  • Provide reports on activities for the AGM and annual report.
  • Manage the Communications and Marketing budget.
  • Ad hoc duties or project work as assigned.

Experience Required

  • Third level qualification in Communications, Marketing, Branding, Public Relations, Business Studies or other relevant related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience at a senior level in the areas of Communications and Marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven and demonstrable experience of working on a wide range of marketing projects.
  • A strong understanding of the structure of sport in Ireland, preferably tennis.
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to produce relevant and engaging content on all digital platforms.
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in website content management tools and social media.

Additional Information

  • This is a permanent position, subject to a successful 6-month period of probation.
  • The position will incorporate the need for flexible working hours including occasional evening and/or weekend work.
  • The position is full time based on a 37.5 working hour week.

Remuneration:
Depending on experience.
